NASATI - National Agency for Science and Technology Information

NASATI is a subordinate body under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, with the function of state management and implementation of science and technology information, library and statistics activities. Currently, NASATI is performing in five main areas of activities: S&T information, S&T library, S&T statistics, technology transfer promotion, and development of Vietnam Research and Education Network (VinaREN). NASATI provides information services to support S&T policy making, management, and R&D activities. NASATI is in charge of developing national S&T information resources through the Library Consortium on e-resources.

Recently, NASATI was assigned by MOST to implement national S&T statistics to provide input for S&T management. NASATI is also the national coordinator of VinaREN – high-speed advanced network connecting 60 leading research nstitutes and universities in Vietnam with international research and education communities.

In the framework of FP7, NASATI participated in SEA-EU-NET project since 2008 and contributed to its successful implementation, including: promoting bi-regional S&T policy dialog; promoting South East Asia (SEA) scientists participation in FP7 and the, official launch ceremony of the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012 (YoSTI 2012) and a numbers of scientific workshops, etc. NASATI continues to be a partner with more active roles in the next phase, SEA-EU-NET II, which will take place during 2012- 2016.
