Gap analysis and funding opportunities on climate action in ASEAN countries

Various projects and activities are going on in ASEAN regions with EU collaboration on climate action. This paper highlights opportunities for future collaboration between EU and ASEAN considering current issues and also projects carried out till now. In this paper, an analysis was conducted across the activities and collaboration related to climate change mitigation and adaptation in ASEAN countries that are funded or supported by EU funding programs (and international funding programmes supported by EU countries), agencies, and related funds. This analysis aims to identify the potential funding/activity gaps which may undermine future sustainable development (in the context of climate action) within the ASEAN. For this, the paper carry out detail study on the scope (across several facets of climate mitigation and adaptation) and type (in terms of the nature activities undertaken) of collaboration and support that is available and undertaken via EU-supported funding and collaboration activities within the ASEAN region.
