A Joint Activity of the University of Potsdam and the University of the Philippines-Diliman in the SUSTAIN EU-ASEAN Project

Abstract

This project aims at capitalizing on the existing hydro-meteorological monitoring infrastructure in order to add value to flood early warning in the Philippines. In particular, we will advance research on radar-based rainfall retrieval and nowcasting and its application in advancing hydrological simulation environments. For this purpose, we will exchange scientists as well as master and PhD students from the Philippines and Germany to achieve both scientific and technical progress, and to jointly seek for further funding opportunities in order to make this collaboration sustainable.
