This paper describes current research cooperation activities between Europe and Southeast Asia in the areas of climate action, resource efficiency and raw materials. This first report focuses on projects with existing links to Southeast Asia and as such aims to create a solid basis for the creation of future opportunities and provides a network for European projects aiming to initiate new cooperation with ASEAN partners.
In line with the projects goals, this analysis identifies the climate action, resource efficiency and
raw materials topics which are/have the subject of research in ASEAN countries or the EU.
More significantly, this analysis sheds light upon the work that is not being done, and where it is not being done, thus determining areas which are worthy of more specific support.
This report identifies the features of funding options
which will give the general information and also the information on the inclusion of the research topics within SUSTAIN EU-ASEAN. This report is developed primarily by desk research using a range of information sources, mainly relevant websites and databases such as climate funds update.
